AFTERCARE

Please remove the dry-lock-pad this evening or tomorrow morning at the latest and begin the aftercare routine. Plastic wrap must be changed every 3–4 hours. At each change, wash the tattoo thoroughly using the palm of your hand, cold water, and a soap-free wash lotion or medical-grade soap (e.g., Balea); pat dry with a clean towel or paper towel; and apply a thin layer of panthenol-based cream. Do not use plastic wrap for more than 2 days after the appointment—if you are in a clean environment free of pets, you can let the tattoo air out sooner (though you should still wash and moisturize it regularly).

Please apply a thin layer of panthenol-based cream 3–5 times daily for the next 10–14 days; also, continue washing the tattoo regularly with the wash lotion during the initial days.

Always ensure your hands are clean.

After about 10–14 days, feel free to switch from panthenol cream to an aftercare butter.

Regular moisturizing is important during the first 3–4 weeks; the tattoo should not be allowed to dry out.

Itching is part of the healing process; please avoid scratching or rubbing the area. Do not peel off any skin that flakes away after the first few days (the thin, silvery layer); let it come off naturally. Please refrain from exercising during the first few days. Avoid saunas, swimming pools (including bathtubs), and sun exposure for the first 3–4 weeks after the appointment.

Feel free to get in touch at any time if you have questions.
